There are many popular Spanish resorts at Costa Blanca that are frequented by many Europeans, especially in the summer.
Benidorm
This is not only one of Costa Blanca’s largest tourist resorts; it is also the most preferred in Europe. Benidorm records a staggering 4 million tourists annually with its beautiful long stretches of wide sandy beaches, numerous bars, pubs, restaurants and nightlife entertainment. It has impressive luxury hotels that offer superb facilities, plenty of tourist attractions that include theme parks, safari parks, funfairs, animal shows and a fun filled water park. Benidorm proves to be the ideal family holiday not only in Costa Blanca, but also in the whole of Spain.
Denia
This city is at Costa Blanca’s most northern side with a beautiful coastal offering. Denia offers majestic 11th century medieval castle which were built by the Moors after it was captured by the Arabs. Prior to that, Denia was under the Greeks, Iberians and even the Romans. It flourished as an important raisin producer in the 19th century when English raisin traders started the plantation until the 1930s Spanish Civil War.
Tourism came on in the 20th century to transform Denia into a growing tourist holiday resort by the sea.
Elche
Elche is renowned for its Palmerar D'Elx, which is a very large palm forest. It also offers an interesting view of Dama D’Elx, or called "Lady of Elche" which is a bust made during the 4th century. Elche also has haunting medieval drama offerings such as the 'Elche Mystery'.
Elche is known as Valencia’s third largest city with 220,000 residents in an area that is surrounded by 200,000 palm trees. Elche boasts of being the biggest palm forest found in Europe. It has always been an agricultural plot up to the 19th century until the shoe-making industry came on successfully to raise Elche further in its economy. Now, its shoe-making industry is considered one of Spain’s most important industries.
Playa Flamenca
This Spanish village is situated in Orihuela Costa district at south of Costa Blanca. It developed late in 1970s when Flemish investors transformed it from a barren coastline to a popular holiday destination by the coast with improved beach and enhanced promenades. Its bustling Saturday market proves to be another highlight at Playa Flamenca with thousands of shoppers flocking to it weekly for some bargain.
Vega Baja
This is Alicante’s furthest southern
ferienhaus spanien district. Vega Baja means ‘a valley of Low Fertility’; however, that does not stop it from growing fresh produce like citrus fruits especially. In fact, Vega Baja has flourished in this plantation to blend in with its lovely coastline of beaches and favorite resorts. Orihuela is this district’s capital with larger coastal towns like Guardamar and Torrevieja. These towns also offer beautiful white and sandy beaches with sparkling but tranquil Mediterranean waters.
